Welcome to Sunderland u3a
Sunderland u3a is a member of The Third Age Trust and was established in 2004. The u3a offers you the chance to make new friends, develop new skills, gain new experiences and really get out and enjoy life.
The Third Age Trust brings together people no longer in full time employment to develop their interests and continue their learning in a friendly and informal environment. Our learning is about subjects that we are interested in. There is no classroom type tests or exams. We learn purely for the pleasure of doing so. We offer our members many opportunities to explore new experiences, learn something new and make new friends. Above all else, our aim is to have fun and laugh a lot! After all, research has shown us that being active and involved is physically and mentally advantageous to our long- term health and happiness as we age.
We have vacancies for new members and we welcome visitors to our monthly meetings.
Monthly Meetings
We meet between 1.00pm and 3.00pm. on the third Thursday of every month and at Mill View Social Club located next door to Herons on Station Road, Fulwell. Access is on the ground floor and there is a large car park to the rear. For details of speaker programme see Events page.
In addition to the annual subscription, members pay an attendance fee of £3.00 at the monthly meeting. As a taster, visitors can attend the monthly meeting for a fee of £3.00 per session for a maximum of two sessions. For further details please contact the Membership Secretary.
Membership of Sunderland u3a
The annual membership subscription is £20.00, due in April each year. You can of course pay at the next meeting you attend. If you are unable to attend a monthly meeting by June and still wish to retain your membership, please contact the Membership Secretary.
